IMPROVEMENTS IN OR RELATING TO BLAST WHEELS AND CAGES FOR BLAST WHEELS

A blast wheel assembly (10) has a bladed rotor (11) and an impeller (18) which rotate together. A cage (12) has an axial and angular wall (23) including an aperture (24) through which in use particulate material passes. The cross section of the aperture (24) is irregular to control the uniformity of blast effect on a surface being treated. The assembly (10) can be in a mobile or static machine. Various forms of aperture (24) are described.
