An apparatus for removably mounting a device such as a generator unit to a pair of parallel spaced apart I-beams including a cross member (10) having a pair of slots (18, 20) at opposite ends and a pair of clamp plates (50) removably bolted to the cross member (10) through respective slots (18, 20). A separate upstanding sliding guide (30) is mounted between each clamp plate (50) and the cross member (10). Each clamp plate (50) is a substantially rectangular member with an oblong cutout and at least one notch. Each upstanding sliding guide (30) is a substantially L-shaped bracket having a downwardly extending fixing pin (38), an oblong cutout (36) and a raised tooth (40) therebetween. The slots (18, 20) each include two or more circular pin receiving openings having diameters somewhat larger than the width of the slot (18, 20).
