<p>Multimodular sorption heat pumps, preferably of the rotary type, have internal heat exchange via thermosyphons, whereby rotation turns the thermosyphon on and off. The thermosyphon enables multi-effect operation and/or simplifies heat exchange with external fluids, all without need for control valves. Referring to the figure, plural modules (5), each containing zones (6) and (7) of sorbents having differing affinity for a sorbent, are caused to rotate by rotator (3). Thermosyphons (21) transfer heat from absorbing zone (6) to end (20) where it is removed by air.</p> |
