<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a tracking controller capable of conducting a stable track jump. CONSTITUTION:ATF error signals 134 are acquired by an ATF circuit 201 from pilot signals contained in the regenerative RF signals of heads 101-104. The magnitude of ATF error signals obtained from heads having different azimuths is compared by using the absolute values of the ATF error signals. The large ATF error signal is selected, and the selected ATF error signal and said ATF error signal 134 are changed over to the ATF error signals of a target track by a signal 133 from a micro-computer 123. Accordingly, a track jump is conducted smoothly without applying a fixed voltage as seen in conventional devices.</p> |
