<p>PURPOSE:To provide the distance input device which enables precise distance input and uses the long-life, high-reliability sphere as to a distance input device which uses a sphere, and measures the rotational length of the sphere operated by rolling and inputs a digital value corresponding to the distance to an arithmetic unit. CONSTITUTION:This device has the sphere 11 which is supported rotatably, a rotary shaft 13 which comes into contact with the sphere 11 and rotates frictionally following up the rotation of the sphere 11, a measuring means 14 which measures the angle of rotation of a measurement member, fixed to the rotary shaft 13, accompanying the rotation of the sphere 11, an energizing means 15 which energizes the rotary shaft 13 to press a friction part 12 against the sphere 11, and a support means 16 which supports the rotary shaft 13 in a both-end supported state across the friction part 12 and has one side pivoted rotatably across the friction part 12 and the other side connected to the energizing means 14.</p> |
