<p>PURPOSE:To provide a crash detector which can be downsized while simplifying the assembling and wiring works without sacrifice of the function or reliability of the detector. CONSTITUTION:The crash detector comprises a power supply circuit 7 connected with an igniter for firing a gas generating agent in a gas inflator and feeding current thereto, a crash sensor 3 having an eccentric rotor rotatable depending on the deceleration at the time of crash and provided, between the eccentric rotor and the fixed side, with first and second contacts turned ON/OFF depending on the rotational angle of the eccentric rotor, a backup capacitor 5 for the power supply circuit 7, and a diagnostic circuit 4 for detecting failure and disconnection. The first and second contacts of the crash sensor 3 are connected in series on the opposite pole sides of an igniter in the power supply circuit 7 and the crash sensor 3, the backup capacitor 5, and the diagnostic circuit 4 are built in one housing 2.</p> |
