PURPOSE:To obtain an FRP roll having no cracking and having a fluoroplastic coating layer strongly and closely bonded and fixed thereto by heating a fluoroplastic cylinder whose inner diameter is set to a specific range slightly smaller than the diameter of the core material of the FRP roll and inserting the core material of the FRP roll in the cylinder to contract the cylinder under cooling. CONSTITUTION:When the inner diameter of a fluoroplastic cylinder is (r) and the outer diameter of the core material of an FRP roll is R, (r) is set to the range of 0.940R <=r<=0.999R. The fluoroplastic cylinder is expanded under heating and the core material of the FRP roll is inserted in the cylinder and the whole is allowed to stand to be cooled to room temp. It is pref. to preliminarily coat the surface of the core material of the FRP roll with an adhesive. By this method, a fluoroplastic coated lightweight FRP roll having the fluoroplastic layer certainly fixed to the core material thereof and having a high rigidity, surface water repellency and surface oil repellency is obtained. |
