PURPOSE:To enable a user to write desired data any number of times in a discoid recording medium having only an area only for reproduction such as CD-ROM and to make the recording medium handy to carry by adding a stickable area in which data can be recorded to the recording medium in addition to the area only for reproduction. CONSTITUTION:An area 2 only for reproduction is formed in CD-ROM 1 and bits are formed in an Al vapor-deposited layer in the area 2. The inside of the CD-ROM 1 is formed with transparent plastic, etc., and thermally erasable paper 3 is stuck to the inside with an adhesive, etc., in the form of concentric circules so that data can be written. The paper 3 discolors when heated, e.g. at 200 deg.C for a prescribed time and maintains its discolored state even at ordinary temp. but returns to the original color when heated, e.g. at 100 deg.C for a prescribed time. Data can be recorded in the paper with a thermal had or laser light in the form of spots, a bar code, etc., and the recorded data can be erased. |
