PURPOSE:To provide an optical visual device by which a clear video is viewed even under bright environment especially by using a dimmer means whose transmissivity is varied. CONSTITUTION:This device is constituted so that a surrounding landscape and the video reflected on a pair of small-sized displays 11 and 11 are opticaily superimposed to be viewed through an optical system 10 constituted of a pair of reflection mirrors 12 and 12, a pair of oculars 13 and 13, and a polarizing beam splitter 14. A dimming shutter 15 whose transmissivity is varied is installed in front of the splitter 14. For example, an electrochromic element is used as the shutter 15, and the transmissivity is freely varied by electrochemical oxidation-reduction reaction. Thus, the clear video is always viewed even under the bright or dark environment by changing the transmissivity of the shutter 15. |
