<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a toner stable in triboelectrification between the toner and a charge applying member, sharp and uniform in triboelectrification distribution and good in rising of charging and environmental stability by using a specified compound for a charge control agent. CONSTITUTION:This toner is composed essentially of a binder resin and a colorant and the charge control agent represented by formula 1 in which X is -SO2- or -CO-; each of Y and Z is H, 1-8C lower alkyl, aryl, or a group represented by formula II; n is 1, 2, or 3; and in formula II, each or R1-R5 is H or 1-8C lower alkyl. This compound exhibits good charging characteristics, even when the binder resin is a polyester resin or an epoxy resin, and it is optimum as the negatively chargeable charge control agent for a low temperature fixable toner, and the negative chargeability is further improved by using the compound of formula I together with a F-containing quaternary ammonium chloride as an assistant charge control agent.</p> |
