发明名称 FORMATION OF POLY-P-XYLYLENE FILM ON IONOMER RESIN
摘要 PURPOSE:To realize a perfect packaging material composed of a combination of an ionomer resin with a poly-p-xylylene film and improved in the adhesion between the both by treating the resin as an adherend with xylene and forming the poly-p-xylylene film thereon. CONSTITUTION:The surface of an ionomer produced by a high-pressure polymerization process and represented by formula I (wherein M is a monovalent metal such as Na<+> or K<+> or a bivalent metal such as Mg<2+> or Zn<2+>) or its molding as an adherend is degreased and washed, and xylene is applied to this surface by a method such as dipping, followed by air drying. The process for performing the vapor-phase deposition of poly-p-xylylene of formula II (wherein (n) is 5000 or above) comprises using a degree of vacuum of usually 10<-3> to 1Torr, and comprises step 1 of vaporizing di-p-xylene of formula II at 100-200 deg.C, step 2 of generating diradical p-xylene by the thermal decomposition of a dimer of formula IV at 450-700 deg.C, and step 3 of simultaneously performing the adsorption and polymerization of radical p-xylene on the adherend at room temperature to form a film of a high-molecular-weight poly-p-xylylene of formula V.
