PURPOSE:To dissolve nonuniformity in optical phase difference and to provide the optical pickup with high C/N, miniaturized and inexpensive. CONSTITUTION:Laser light 16 emitted from a semiconductor laser ship 15 is projected to an optical disk 24, and return light from the optical disk 24 is diffracted in the direction of 45 deg. to the polarizing direction of projected linear polarization from the semiconductor laser chip 15 and is also converted into parallel light by a hologram 21. Since the diffracted parallel light 27 diffracted by the hologram 21 is made incident as approximately parallel as it is upon a polarization separating film 28, nonumiformity in phase difference between an S-polarization component 8 and a P-polarization component 9 after separating polarization can be eliminated, and a good quality magneto-optical regenerative signal can be obtained. |
