An installation particularly suitable for residual water purification usingthe activated sludge method with denitrification comprises several tankswhich are supplied with water by a common supply pipe, which preferablycomes in the form of an annular pipe. Said supply pipe, arranged above themaximum water level in the tanks, has an essentially horizontal position andserves as an accumulation area for the residual water supply to thedifferent tanks via quick-closing and opening valves providing automaticdrainage into the different tanks.
