<p>PURPOSE: To generate a required pattern of horizontal scanning/vertical scanning by a simple method by combining and using at least three fixed reflection mirrors and a hologram window. CONSTITUTION: This optical bar code scanner is provided with a laser 22 for generating a light beam r1 having coherency and a rotatable polygonal mirror 20 for scanning the beam. The scanned beams are reflected from fixed mirrors 30 and 36. Reflected light r3 from the mirror 30 among them horizontally reflects the beam through a window 12 inside the housing 10 of the scanner and a bar code is irradiated. The reflected light r4 from the remaining mirror 36 reflects the beam upwards through the hologram window 40 inside the housing, for instance, in another direction. The hologram window 40 converts the horizontal scanning pattern of the beam r4 reflected upwards to the vertical scanning pattern r5 turned in a horizontal direction through the window. By the method, the required patterns of the horizontal scanning/vertical scanning are generated by the simple method.</p> |
