PURPOSE: To determine correct hand-off (switching) time by performing signal processing based on the long-term average value and short-term average value of signal intensity received from a mobile station. CONSTITUTION: A controller block 142 receives a received signal intensity indicator(RSSI) sample through a reception channel, stores a process sample and performs required signal processing. Namely, when a long-term sample rate average is less than a prescribed hand-off threshold value(HOTL), afterwards, a short-term sample rate average is checked. Then, when the short-term average is similarly less than the HOTL, a hand-off request is sent through a self-controller interface 148. |
