A temperature sensing device adapted to bring about an actuating movement of a control valve, e.g. for a heating element. The device comprises a heat insulating housing (2) with a closed fluid chamber (5), which is filled with a fluid having a high coefficient of volume expansion and which is enclosed externally by a heat conducting casing (4) and internally by an elastically stretchable diaphragm (7). The diaphragm abuts a piston (9), which is displaceable in a sleeve body (6, 6') in the housing (2). The piston and the surrounding sleeve body (6, 6') form a continuous abutment surface for the diaphragm (7), wherein the central portion (7f) of the diaphragm (7) continuously abuts the end surface of the piston (9) and follows the movements of the piston while being stretched. The various parts of the device are preferably made of a polymer material. |
