PURPOSE:To enhance the photopolymerizable composition in sensitivity to visible light by incorporating at least a specified nongaseous ethylenically unsaturated compound and a specified iron allene complex. CONSTITUTION:This photopolymerizable composition contains at least one kind of ethylenically unsaturated compound nongaseous at normal temperature and at least the iron allene complex represented by the formula I in which each of R<1> and R<2> is, independently, 1-12 C alkyl, 2-12 C alkenyl or such alkynyl, 1-8C alkoxy, or the like: R<2> may form a condensed polycyclic compound with the benzene ring; X is BF4, PF6, AsF6, or the like; each of D<1> and D<2> is not the constituent part of the chromophore of this complex but the sensitizing part for absorbing chemical rays; and each of L<1> and L<2> is a group bonding the sensitizing part with the cyclopentadienyl ring of this complex, thus permitting the obtained composition to exhibit high sensitivity to visible light, and to be able to use a low energy exposure light source, and to expose a large number of photosensitive materials and to develop them in a given time. |
