PURPOSE:To realize a method of discriminating tools, which does not require a special operation for discriminating the tools when the tools for holding components according to objects, such as an electronic component, are exchanged and is capable of grasping the defective state of the tools before an equipment starts a continuous operation. CONSTITUTION:A method of discriminating tools has a decision process, wherein whether an equipment is capable of performing normally a continuous operation from a state that the tools are held and a state that the tools to be used are housed or not is decided in a control part 5, and a discriminating process to discriminate that when the operation can be normally performed and a head part 1 holds a tool 2, a free tool out of the tools to be used is held in housing parts and moreover, is constituted of a cut-off process to cut off the discriminated tool 2 at a position where it is housed, a taking-out process wherein when the operation can be normally performed and the head part 1 does not hold a tool 2, a tool 2 is taken out from a specified position in the housing parts, and a failure treating process wherein in the case where the operation is decided that it can not be normally performed in the decision process, a processing of the defective state of the tools is conducted. |
