DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING STEPPING MOTOR

PURPOSE:To provide a device for controlling a stepping motor wherein the occurrence of undulating vibrations is controlled even if the stepping motor is periodically accelerated or decelerated. CONSTITUTION:A device 17 for controlling a stepping motor includes a sampling program 24 and a stepping motor acceleration/deceleration program 25. The sampling program 24 is for periodically sampling a set target value that varies with a lapse of time. The stepping motor acceleration/deceleration program 25 calculates the difference between a set target value and the current position of a stepping motor 15, and accelerates the stepping motor according to the difference. The program 25 decelerates the stepping motor when the set target value is approached, and stops when the target value is reached. The sampling interval T is made different from a period corresponding to the number of natural vibration of the drive system where the stepping motor is driven and from a period corresponding to the frequency which is a fraction of the number of natural vibration.
