METHOD FOR DETECTING CHANGE OF MONITORING IMAGE

PURPOSE:To monitor the intrusion of a detected object without malfunction even when a large brightness change is caused in a fixed area of a monitoring image by a local ON/OFF state of illumination, etc. CONSTITUTION:An area 8A including a part of an image 1A under monitoring where a brightness change is caused is segmented. Then this part of the area 8A is compared with a state where no detected object exists by means of a feature map 9A where the sudden changing points of the image signal levels are gathered. Therefore a steep brightness change caused between an area where a brightness change is caused and its peripheral boundary part is excluded from a monitoring subject.
