PURPOSE:To provide a solid polyelectrolyte fuel cell having a separator never making water in the liquid state stay in its gas passing groove while keeping the performance of the solid polyelectrolyte fuel cell. CONSTITUTION:The cell 2 of a solid polyelectrolyte fuel cell uses separators 1A, 1B as separator to the cell of a conventional solid polyelectrolyte fuel cell. In the separators 1A, 1B, the gas passing directional dimension A of gas passing grooves 51A, 51B is set to 1.5 times the whole width dimension G of the gas passing grove part formed by a plurality of gas passing grooves 51A, 51B possessed by the separators 1A, 1B. By setting the gas passing grooves to such a form, the fluid resistances possessed by the gas passing grooves 51A, 51B parts can be increased substantially twice the fluid resistances possessed by the gas passing grooves 51A, 51B of the separator possessed by the conventional cell. |
