NON-AQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY BATTERY AND MANUFACTURE OF NEGATIVE ELECTRODE THEREFOR

PURPOSE:To improve a cycle characteristic and obtain a high capacity by using a predetermined compound as a negative electrode. CONSTITUTION:A band-like separator 13 wider than a positive electrode plate 11 and a negative electrode plate 12 is interposed between then. The positive electrode plate 11 has a lead 14 made of the same material as that of a core member while the negative electrode plate 12 has a lead 15. The entirety is then wound in a spiral manner, thus constituting an electrode body. Mixture gas including boron source gas and carbon source gas is introduced into a reaction container, followed by reaction at 500-1400 deg.C by a CVD method, thereby preparing a compound expressed by BCx (40>=x>=3.1). Consequently, a negative electrode can be manufactured.
