<p>PURPOSE:To record moving picture information for a long period of time in plural recording media and reproducing moving pictures from the recording media without interrupting the operation by having a buffer memory for holding the final part of moving picture information stored in each recording medium and replacing the medium during the reproduction of the moving picture held in the buffer memory. CONSTITUTION:This system is provided with a medium replacing means 27 for automatically replacing each recording medium 20 in accordance with a control signal outputted from a replacement controller 26 because of plural recording media 20 being continuously reproduced. In a part close to the terminating end of each recording medium 20, i.e., a part to be finally reproduced, codes slightly more than the amount to be required for decoding are read out from the medium 20 and stored in a replacing buffer 23C, and at the terminating end, the buffer 23 is filled with data. At the time of completing the reading of all codes from each medium 20, the replacement of the medium 20 is started, no code is inputted to the buffer 23, but the codes stored in the buffer 23C are read out, so that pictures are reproduced without being interrupted.</p> |
