PURPOSE:To simplify the operation and improve the handleability by informing the device carrying user of data all as speech messages even when the data are received in different format such as digital speech data, character code data, and specific codes. CONSTITUTION:In reproduction processing, speech data are read out of a memory part 14 for speech data storage and the discrimination code indicating the kind of the speech data is checked. When the discrimination code indicates the digital speech data, the read data are converted by a D/A converter 16 and an analog speech signal is outputted. When the discrimination code is a specific code indicating a regular form message, speech message data on a regular form sentence are read out of a speech dictionary 17 and an analog speech signal is outputted after synthesizing by a speech synthesizer 18. When the discrimination code indicates a character code, the syntax of a gathering of character codes is analyzed, corresponding speech data are read out of the speech dictionary 17, and an analog speech signal is outputted after synthesizing by the speech synthesizer 18 and outputted. Then the end of the speech data is decided.
