GENERATING METHOD FOR HIGH QUALITY CHARACTER PATTERN AND OUTPUT DEVICE FOR HIGH QUALITY CHARACTER

PURPOSE:To reduce data amount without deteriorating character pattern shape and the quality of an output character as using font data in which the contour line of a character pattern is described in plural pieces of coordinate point information. CONSTITUTION:The font data in which the contour line of the character pattern is described in the plural pieces of coordinate point information is stored in a font ROM 2 by segmenting into a first data part where a skeleton part which decides the whole shape of the character pattern is described, and a second data part where the detail shape of the character pattern is described. The coordinate point information of the font data belonging to the first data part is described by using grids of 200X200, and that of the font data belonging to the second data part by using grids of 160X160. A CPU 1 develops by rasterizing the font data read out from the font ROM 2 in prescribed sequence on character pattern developing memory 3 as a bit image.
