PURPOSE: To install dual laser beams accurately relative to each other, while ensuring thermal separation of a laser diode as well. CONSTITUTION: One pair of laser dies is formed in a state such that the laser die on one side of the laser dies has an aligning member 92 on its surface, and the other laser die has a complementary aligning member 96 on its surface. The one pair of the laser dies is assembled in a state such that the surfaces opposite to each other of the laser dies are spaced from each other and the aligning members on the laser dies are combined with each other for making a dual-beam semiconductor laser align with the members 92 and 96.
