Disclosed is a blood filter which exhibits excellent white blood cell removability as well as remarkably improved red blood cell recovery rate and blood treating amount per unit time. Also disclosed is a production method thereof. The blood filter comprises: a pretreatment filter which is a laminate of first non-woven fabrics having an average fiber diameter of 5-30 μm and average hole size of 10-30 μm; and a main filter which is a laminate of second non-woven fabrics having hole size of 1-5 μm, average hole size of 5-10 μm, and average hole size distribution rate greater than or equal to 30%, wherein charging density of the pretreatment filter and the main filter with respect to a target blood treating amount of the blood filter is 0.1-1 g/100ml and 1-3 g/100ml respectively. |
