When machine tracks and a drive shaft are attached on the face side, a face conveyor is substantially improved with regard to wear and assembly and dismantling effort by the perpendicular flange of the machine track being constructed so as to form a guide slot. On the other hand, the individual racks as usual consist of teeth and a plate-shaped element, the latter being constructed as a push-in element which can thus be pushed into the guide slot in the machine track. The individual racks are then secured easily and quickly via bolts in such a way that they can be exchanged as such even in the event of wear or other problems without it being necessary also to release the machine track and further mounted parts at the same time. In addition, the special design of the racks provides the possibility of using round bolts as teeth, which are welded to the push-in element.
