1. A method of communication over a composite cable comprising a plurality of conductors extending from a first location to a second location using a clamp-on inductive coupler around all of the plurality of conductors of the composite cable, the method comprising:
coupling the composite cable to a signal input or output using the clamp-on inductive coupler around all of the plurality of conductors of the composite cable to communicate a signal to or from the composite cable; communicating the signal along the composite cable from the first location to the second location; wherein the clamp-on inductive coupler is at one of the first location and the second location; wherein the composite cable comprises a sheath around the plurality of conductors and wherein the clamp-on inductive coupler is clamped in place around the sheath.
