It consists of a shaft 1 carrying, at its ends, a pair of eccentric masses 2-2' arranged in counterposition, this shaft 1 being mounted on a central support 3 which is able to rock exclusively in a single and imaginary plane, this support 3 having an arm 7 perpendicular to its axis of rocking, via which it is connected to the piston 9 corresponding to the alternating movement, via the corresponding connecting rod 8, whilst the shaft 1 incorporates, at its centre point, a gear or pinion 12 via which it is connected, by means of the complementary belt 13, to the motor 10 or, if appropriate, to the output shaft corresponding to the rotary movement. In the specific case of there being a motor 10, the latter supplies a rotary movement to the shaft 1 which, on account of the eccentric masses 2, rocks on the plane which allows it the central support 3 and the latter transmits said rocking movement, via its arm 7, to the alternating piston 9. <IMAGE>
