The invention relates to a pump protection slide with a housing (1) which has an inlet opening (1A) on the feed-pump side, an outlet opening (1B) on the useful-flow side, and a bypass opening (1C) on the secondary-flow side. In this arrangement, a spindle (2) is mounted in an axially displaceable manner in the housing (1) in coaxial guides (3) through which flow can occur. A control body (2A) is fastened to the spindle (2) on the inflow side. The control body (2A) interacts with a seat (2B) of the housing (1) for closing and opening and at the same time actuates a device releasing and/or shutting off the secondary flow into the bypass opening (1C). The housing (1) is in the form of a one-piece block which can be pushed in between a flange (10A) arranged on the feed-pump side and a flange (10B) lying in parallel opposite the flange (10A) and arranged on the useful-flow side. At the same time, the plane side walls (11A, 11B, 11C) bordering the inlet, outlet and bypass openings (1A, 1B, 1C) serve as supporting surfaces for the corresponding flanges (10A, 10B, 10C), which can be secured in a sealing and releasable manner to these side walls (11A, 11B, 11C). <IMAGE>
