<p>There is disclosed a modified oriented polyacetal product in which the surface of the product is coated partly or entirely with a phenolic compound-polyacetal composite layer which improves the affinity of the surface towards dissimilar materials. Also disclosed is a process for forming the surface which comprises heating the surface in contact with the phenolic compound and optionally a resorcinol-formaldehyde condensation product. The modified oriented polyacetal product is useful for the preparation of composite materials.</p>
