The fitted-together covering lid and its attachment on food containers serves to close vessels with the aid of the negative pressure in the vessel (3), said negative pressure being produced by the covering lid consisting of a lid (1) and the label (2). When the pressure increases in the vessel (3), the lid (1) returns, together with the label connected to it, into its starting position before the negative pressure is produced in the vessel and indicates that opening has taken place or the pressure has changed due to non-tightness of the package or due to perishing of the food contained in the package. Furthermore, the lid (1) and the label (2) are designed and fitted together in such a way that they support each other and thus allow less material to be used. The design of the lid (1) and label (2) allows the exchange of gases which can be determined beforehand through the fitted-together covering lid from the vessel side to the outside and vice versa. <IMAGE>
