The invention relates to an air distributor box for a heating or air-conditioning system of motor vehicles, which box has a first air-outlet opening for the connection of a side nozzle and a second air-outlet opening which is arranged below the latter and is intended for ventilating the leg room and also has a ventilation flap controlling the air flow to the second air-outlet opening. In order to avoid the side nozzle also having to be restricted externally and manually by the driver or passenger to ensure adequate ventilation of the leg room when the ventilation flap is open, the first air-outlet opening to the side nozzle is assigned a flow-restricting diaphragm and this is positively coupled to the ventilation flap in such a manner that the flow-restricting diaphragm restricts the opening cross-section of the first air-outlet opening to the maximum extent when the ventilation flap is in its open position in which it releases the full flow of air to the second air-outlet opening, and when the ventilation flap is in its closed position in which it blocks off the flow of air to the second air-outlet opening, the air flow-restricting diaphragm completely releases said opening cross-section.
