To position an actuator without feedback, by means of an electric motor driven as a function of time by a microprocessor, a method is proposed which is characterised in that, for the constructional unit consisting of actuator and electric motor, under at least two different loadings B1, B2, the proportionality constants K1, K2 of the formula travel = K x setting time and the associated times T1, T2 for the braking of the rotor after switching off the electric motor from a first rotational speed Na to a second rotational speed Nb are determined and stored, and in that during the operation of the actuator the time Tx for the braking of the rotor Na to Nb is measured and, using the stored times T1, T2, the proportionality constant Kx belonging to the time Tx are calculated by means of linear interpolation and used for the drive. <IMAGE>
