A protector equipped with a cover which slides vertically on guides of a rectangular base. In its lower part the base has protuberances urged by an upper spring and an entry for a key or card which acts on the protuberances. The latter have annular grooves at different heights in which, when the key or card is received, a projection of a horizontal bar is introduced, which bar is operated on two end teeth by individual springs. The bar projects towards the cover and can be housed in two rear recesses in the cover. <IMAGE>
