A device for automatic attaching a chuck on a lathe spindle, fitted with a sleeve that guides a tension member of a pneumatic cylinder, whereas the tension member is linked with a pull sleeve by means of a bayonet lock, characterized in that it has a shifting ring (13) with a thread (8) inside and with grips (14) that hold the chuck body (16), whereas those grips engage a flange (15) by means of recesses (33), and the device has a sleeve (7) seated rotatably on the body (1), whereas the body is fixed on the spindle (2) end, whereas the sleeve (7) has a thread (8) and co-operates with the ring (13), whereas the sleeve is locked by means of a bolt (10) seated in a radial aperture of the sleeve.<IMAGE>
