PURPOSE:To obtain an inexpensive material excellent in transparency and reduced in the migration of a transparentizing agent and excellent in the storage stability of the color forming part of a thermal recording layer, by providing a thermal recording layer to a transparent support prepared by impregnating base paper with a thermoplastic acrylic resin. CONSTITUTION:Base paper is impregnated with an acrylic resin by applying an acrylic resin solution to the surface of the base paper before drying or immersing the base paper in the acrylic resin solution before drying. The impregnation amount of the acrylic resin to the base paper is set to a ratio of 5-20g/m<2> on a basis of a dry adhesion amount. The transparent base paper subjected to impregnation treatment is used as a support and a thermal recording layer consisting of a leuco dye and a coupler is formed to the surface of said support. As the coupler, various electron acceptable substances for allowing the leuco dye to develop a color through the reaction therewith under heating are adapted. Various binders are used in order to bond and support the leuco dye and the coupler on the support. |
