A safety belt with a high load-bearing capacity having a multiple-pin buckle is described. The frame (1) of the buckle is divided by a central web (2), thus producing two openings in the buckle. At least two pins (3) are mounted so as to be rotatable on the central web (2) but not displaceable on the web (2), said pins resting on the limb (1a) when the belt is fastened. One end of the belt strap (5) is mounted on the limb (1b) so as to be non-removable. The other end of the belt strap (5) is passed between the web (2) and the limb (1a), over the web (2) and back between the web (2) and the limb (1b), the pins (3) projecting through correspondingly mounted openings (6) in the belt (5). This guiding of the belt guarantees increased safety for the proper fastening of the belt and against unintentional pulling-out of the free end of the belt strap (5), for example by entanglement. Furthermore, no openings for the pins are required in the belt loop and the limb (1b), as a result of which the mechanical stability is increased there and manufacture is simplified. <IMAGE>
