A modular busbar device, in particular for the connection of installation apparatuses (service apparatuses) (which are arranged in a row on supporting rails) in multi-phase systems, in the case of which rails which are provided with connecting lugs and are made of conductive material are held in chambers made of insulating material, the walls of the chambers having latching tabs which interact with narrow sides of the rails and have a shoulder which runs parallel to the base of the chamber. In order to ensure a good adaptation capability to the respective conditions in the case of such a device, it is provided that the chambers are formed by individual, essentially U-shaped profiles (1) which each accommodate one rail (3, 3'), the connecting lugs (5, 5') for each rail (3, 3') being offset with respect to the plane of said rail by means of a bend and running essentially parallel to this rail (3, 3') and a weak point (9) being provided in the transition region from the rail (3, 3') to the connecting lug (5, 5'), which weak point (9) makes it possible to break the connecting lug (5, 5') out, the magnitude of the offset of the connecting lugs (5, 5') with respect to the associated rail (3, 3') preferably being different in the case of at least two rails of the device. <IMAGE>
