Adjustable elastomeric limit stop (1) located between a motor vehicle bodywork element (5) mounted with articulation and a structural element (8) of the said bodywork and sliding in a sleeve (2) counter to the force exerted by a preloaded spring (9) mounted in compression between the said bodywork element (5) and the corresponding end of the limit stop (1), characterised in that the limit stop (1) has an adjustment means consisting of a straight opening (13) extending radially and longitudinally inside the body of the limit stop (1) and in which a control shaft (12) orthogonal to the axis of the limit stop (1) can turn, while two diametrically opposed orientable projections (10, 11) borne by the said shaft (12) are manoeuvred into contact with the edge of the opening (13) to allow the limit stop (1) to slide in its sleeve (2) or to oppose this sliding by altering the orientation of the said projections (10, 11). <IMAGE>
