摘要 PURPOSE: To provide a device for testing and monitoring optical fibers by incorporating a min. receiving element in an optical communication system in order to monitor a large quantity of light fibers. CONSTITUTION: FOTS 10, arranged in a center station or a remote terminal, is provided. FOTS 10 is connected to plural optical waveguide bodies which are arranged in the center station or the remote terminal, a signal is transmitted to the optical waveguide bodies and the signal is received from the optical waveguide bodies. The communication network is provided with an OTDR transmitter 200 and transmits the OTDR signal of a monitor wavelength which is different from a signal wavelength to at least a part of the waveguide bodies. The optical connected element is provided with plural planar optical waveguides, which are formed on a substrate 120 in an axial direction. The plural planar monitor waveguides are formed on the substrate, and an OTDR signal from the TDR transmitter 200 is transmitted to at least a part of a main waveguide. Plural wavelength-dividing multiplexer 250 is formed on a substrate.
