<p>PURPOSE:To prevent an erroneous detection due to a small animal and to enhance the responsiveness of the detector by a method wherein a plurality of infrared detection elements composed of infrared-transmitting pyroelectric films are stacked and a plurality of detection areas are constituted in the same space. CONSTITUTION:For example, infrared detection elements D1, D2 in which light- receiving-face electrodes 12, 16 have been formed to be belt-shaped and which are composed of infrared-transmitting pyroelectric films 11, 15 are stacked on a circuit board 10 via element fixation boards 13, 18 in such a way that the electrode 12, 16 are at right angles to each other. Then, infrared rays from a light-receiving window 7 are transmitted through the pyroelectric film 11, and they are made incident on the light-receiving-face electrode 16 in the rear through a heat-insulating hole 14 in the fixation board 13. Thereby, a longitudinally long detection area which corresponds to the height of a human body is constituted of the element D1 and a transversely long detection area which corresponds to the height of a small animal is constituted of the element D2 in the same space via an optical system in the same manner as an existing pyroelectric infrared detection element. Consequently, a deviation in the detection time is shortened by a small-sized device, and the responsiveness of the detector can be enhanced.</p> |
