PURPOSE:To provide a voice communication equipment capable of maintaining improved speech quality by lowering the sense of incongruity of reception voice when pseudo background noise and actual background voice included in input voice signals are different from each other. CONSTITUTION:ADPCM data sent from a transmission system circuit are received by a reception system circuit and a pseudo noise control circuit 341 detects the sound section and mute section based on the received data. According to the detected result, the pseudo noise control circuit 341 outputs generated pseudo noise from a pseudo noise generation circuit 342 through an adder 35 to a PCM decoder in the mute section and adds the generated pseudo noise from the pseudo noise generation circuit 342 to decoded data from a decoder 33 by the adder 35 to be outputted to the PCM decoder in the sound section.
