PURPOSE:To reform the surfaces of polarizing plates with inorg. coating films which lessen surface deflection to surfaces having excellent water repellency and stainproofiness and durability as well without impairing their visibility by forming plural layers of thin films on the surfaces of the polarizing plates (the surfaces of base layers supporting the polarizing layers). CONSTITUTION:The liquid crystal panel is composed of an upper glass substrate 23, a liquid crystal layer 21, a seal 22 and a lower glass substrate 24. Further, the front side polarizing plate 25 is stuck onto the upper glass substrate 23. A surface reflection decreasing layer 27, a transparent conductive thin film 11 and a stainproof layer 12 are formed on the front side polarizing plate 25. This transparent conductive thin film 11 is constituted by forming a conductive film of metal. or ITO, etc., to an extremely thin film and thereafter, the stainproof layer 12 is formed. On the other hand, the rear side polarizing plate 26 is stuck to the glass substrate 24 and the surface reflection decreasing layer 27, the transparent conductive thin film 11 and the stainproof layer 12 are formed thereon in the same manner as for the front side polarizing plate 25. The sticking of dust, etc., by electrification of the polarizing plates 25, 26 and the stain by water and fingerprints, etc., are prevented by this constitution. |
