<p>PURPOSE: To provide a position determining device which can be used for the reset of a submarine dead reckoning device, by using a three-axis vector magnetic sensor, and finds a submarine position. CONSTITUTION: The arrangement according to the invention includes at least one magnetic marker 16 which is spread in a search region, and the position of the marker about the terrestrial axis is determined and stored in a computer 18. In the case a submarine navigation device 14 requires position reset. navigation is near the marker 16, and three-axis vector magnetometers 26, 28, 30 sense the magnetic induction components of the marker along Cartesian axes. The computer 18 presumes the relative positioning with a fixed magnetic marker 16 accurately using the measured components of the marker by means of algorithm and converts the obtained result into a component along the terrestrial axis. The position of the submarine about the terrestrial axis is calculated from the measurement of the relative positioning of submarine with the marker and the known position of the marker about the terrestrial axis. The determined submarine position is compared with the position determined by the navigation device 14, and necessary position reset is made.</p> |
