PURPOSE:To make it possible to regenerate and amplify simultaneously a plurality of short pulsed lights having different wavelengths or the same wavelength by a method wherein a laser beam regenerative amplifier is provided with a plurality of optical elements, which confine the short pulsed lights in laser resonators by a change in optical characteristics while controlling, and an optical element driving means, which controls these optical characteristics while driving. CONSTITUTION:When short pulsed light having a wavelength of 730nm and a pulse width of 1ps is oscillated from a short-pulse light source 13, this short pulsed light transmits an optical isolator 17 to enter into a prism beam splitter 18 and transmits a Faraday rotator 19 from this splitter 18 to enter into a prism beam splitter 6. The short pulsed light and short pulsed light, which are respectively outputted from the light source 13 and a short pulse light source 14, are controlled their output timings to enter into laser resonators 1 and 2, the short pulsed lights are confined in these resonators 1 and 2 to regenerate and amplify and the optical characteristics of Pockels cells 8 and 10 are changed to output the regenerated and amplified short pulsed lights. |
