<p>PURPOSE:To manufacture an photocoupler which can be easily aligned at a low cost through a simple process. CONSTITUTION:The photocoupler is formed by forming a pair of polycrystalline semiconductor elements 9 and 10 on a substrate 1 made of an amorphous material, etc., which does not cause epitaxial growth and coupling the elements 9 and 10 with each other through a material for forming an optical waveguide 8 so that the light generated when a forward bias is applied across one element 9 or 10 can be guided to the other element 10 or 9 through the waveguide 8 and the voltage generated across the electrodes 6 and 7 respectively provided in the elements 9 and 10 can be monitored.</p> |
