CONTACT MODULE AND PIN GRID ARRAY BASED THEREON

PURPOSE: To provide a contact module for mutually connecting a pair of substrate contact pads, arranged substantially parallel to each other, and a pin grid array(PGA) which uses it. CONSTITUTION: A number of openings 26 are formed in an array (matrix) form on a flat holder 18. A contact module 20 is inserted to each opening 26. Each contact module 20 has a substantially cylindrical module body 24, having a collar 48 on one end and a substantially W-shaped contact 22 inserted into a passage 64 extended between both end parts thereof and having first and contact parts 32, 34 protruding from both the ends. The contact module 20 can be arranged alternately upside down.
