PURPOSE:To automatically superimpose the photographic image and vector map one over the other by finding statistics of luminance on the photographic image corresponding to plural points constituting the vector map and judging that the both match each other when their dispersion becomes minimum. CONSTITUTION:Photographic image data 20 and vector map data 21 are read in and the photographic image data 20 are processed by histogram smoothing and put in an array 22 so that the statistics of luminance will not be partial when calculated as postprocessing. The vector map data 21 are drawn on an orthogonal coordinate system based upon an origin and when they are collated with the array 22, conversion parameters of coordinate conversion are varied while the photographic image data 20 are unchanged, thereby deforming the entire vector map by enlargement, reduction, rotation, movement, etc. While those parameters are varied, values of the array 22 are picked up for the positions of corresponding points to calculate the statistics. It is judged that the both are overlapped each other where the dispersion of the luminance becomes minimum. |
